The safe operation and efficiency of a pipeline are dependent on the continual removal of air from the pipeline.

This is due to the particular design with strong sloped walls that will prevent solids and greaseballs from accumulating on the body creating possible malfunctioning. SIERRA 6600-PP combination kinetic air release valve provide 4-functions:-
- Large air release during filling of the pipeline.
- Small air release under pressurized pipeline.
- Large air intake during draining of the pipeline.
- Preventing slam closure by Limiting the air flow velocity during discharge condition
